I just got back after a blissful weekend on my favorite farm in Greyton -The Blue Hippo… you can rent a cottage without electricity and be in awe of nature…swim in the nearby dam and contemplate the magic of life- and of course the first thing I had to do is get up to date with what has been happening in the world of fashion.. Here the bits that caught my eye..
Alexander Wang’s Spring 2010 collection…-photos curtesy of www.refinery29.com
Whether you love Alex Wang‘s nearly subversive aesthetic or loathe his mainstream appeal, there’s no doubt there’s something special about the man and where the brand is going.
I just love the way he mixes classics and basics in a totally new and yet familiar way… its soo now, soo modern and soo creative..
No, I won’t bring in his collection just yet… don’t think Cape Town is ready for him just yet…but inspiring nonetheless..
I love the simplicity of his shoes..
just think of all the ways you could wear these pieces! …well lets see, I’m sure sooner or later I’ll feature some of his pieces!!
But going back to fall…-which may still feel like mooonths away but it is approaching slowly..- here are some of my favorite looks for fall: (photos by www.ssense.com)
…no they are not specific Alexandra Del Lago outfits..but similar pieces in this vein can be found at ADL…I just like the mix of the sequined trousers and the black top and jacket (I know turbans are in but…I’m not sure they work out of NY or LA)..
I like the mix of soft and hard…elegant and motor cycle style… strong statement pieces that exude confidence and speak of personality..
Look out for some great basics from Velvet-tees, Vintage Century and Gryphon… arriving soon to ADL!
photo by www.ssense.com, how hot are the Proenza Schouler!? more about them… next time..
